The basics on how domains and hosting works
When you have a visitor to your website, they use your domain name to view your website. As simple as it seems, there is a process involved that occurs from the time that the visitor types in your domain name and presses enter.
When a visitor enters your domain name into a browser, the domain is then translated into your server IP address, then the hosting server sends that visitor your website files, which their browser displays to them as a webpage. You can see that, without each of these elements, you won't have a functioning website.
